Ya I heard mixed reviews on the Lachesis. What do recommend instead?

Late responses FTW.
DeathAdder is fairly decent. A couple well-placed thumb buttons on the side, nicely grooved, and the updated model has a higher DPI than the original. The Mamba is a good looking new release from Razer. Wireless with 1ms response (IIRC this was unprecedented before Razer did it, but I could be wrong), high DPI, 9-10 hours of solid gaming battery life, 20+ of just casual use (Internet etc), and it has a USB tether if you still wish to use it while the battery is charging. Seems like a decent mouse. I was going to pick up one the other day (~$150) but I got another LCD monitor to match my 1st one instead ($330 lol)

If your looking to get a mouse, I've been using my Logitech MX Revolution for about 2 yrs now. It's been flawless ever since I got it.

Sorry to bring back a stale thread, but it may help some people buying their computers. When buying an i7, for most people it's better to buy the low end processors and overclock. The i7 920 costs only a fraction of the 975 and they can easily reach 4GHz with Air Cooling. Even most crappy batches can do it, not to mention it's really easy to do. Also always go for 6GB or more with a x58 platform. Look for 1333MHz RAM with latencies no higher than 7.

Another common mistake is people overestimating PSUs. High end rigs (quad cores, quad gpus, the works) overclocked to the brink of explosion hardly push 800Ws. A quality brand is more important than the watts. There is a decent ranking of brands on XtremeSystems under the PSU section. Reference that before making a purchase.

Lastly, be very weary of any "all-in-one" or kit water cooling kits. They are almost always junk. The one listed in this post definitely is. Water cooling is absolutely pointless unless you plan to heavily overclock, and even then it has numerous downsides including steep costs for little gain, pump failure etc. Never buy a water cooled setup from a PC store.

Please don't take offense to this but... you have the knowledge of a man but the look of an angel. How can this be?

The world is a mindbogglingly unstereotypical place. Razz
